Design circa 1955. Executed by Atelier Fornasetti. Lacquered wood, gold transfer print. 108.5 x 80 x 40.5 cm. Inscription: Manufacturer's label in the upper right drawer. Panoplie decorations are a characteristic design element in Fornasetti's work. The decorations are based on historical trophy compositions and transfer them—expanded to include instruments, tools, and vegetal elements—in a graphically condensed form typical of Fornasetti, onto furniture surfaces. The combination and arrangement of motifs vary, resulting in unique compositions in each piece.
