Bernhard Hoetger
Ashtray, unique piece
Designed by Bernhard Hoetger. Produced around 1928 as a unique piece in the "Zu den 7 Faulen" workshops in the Paula Modersohn House on Böttcherstraße in Bremen. The silverwork was manufactured by silversmith Franz Bolze. The ashtray is distinguished by its unusual combination of silver and burl wood. The gleaming, curved silver bowl with bulges on the sides is set into a partially canted, partially organically shaped burl wood block. 3.5 x 13.5 x 11.2 cm. The underside of the object is inscribed with the "Zu den sieben Faulen" workshop signet.
