Early, rare large vase, model 623 from the 'Ceramiche di Fumo' series
Designed in 1969. Executed by Bitossi, Montelupo for the Il Sestante Gallery, Milan. Red clay, glazed with a light gray hue. The matte coloration gives the series the name 'Ceramiche di Fumo' (smoke ceramics). Almost all models in this series were produced individually and have not been reissued. H. 27 cm. Marked: SOTTSASS IL SESTANTE 623 ITALY (handwritten in black) and with an adhesive label with the handwritten inscription: H-T623 / fumo sacrificale.
