Porcelain, enamel, gilding. A game of frogs on a pond filled with water lilies. Consisting of a chessboard, the squares decorated with raised water lily blossoms and leaves, and a wave-shaped rim. Matching pieces are 33 frog-shaped figures painted green and brown. Volkstadt's oldest porcelain manufactory. Chessboard approximately 53 x 53 cm, figures 4.5 to 11 cm. The design was created by Kati Zorn, who was master modeler at the Älteste Volkstädter Porzellanmanufaktur (Oldest Volkstadt Porcelain Manufactory) in 1982. Provenance: Estate of Gabriela Grillo, Mülheim/Ruhr
