Martha Boto graduated from the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in 1950. Starting with geometric abstraction, from the mid-1950s onward her interest focused on kinetics and space. Her Plexiglas objects explore the interplay of color and light. In 1959, she moved to Paris. She soon played a key role in kinetic art and Op Art.
