Sam Messer is a contemporary artist best known for his multifaceted and often enigmatic works. He combines various media in his art, including painting, drawing, and sculpture, frequently employing symbolism and abstract forms. He lives and works primarily in Brooklyn, where he is based and develops much of his artistic practice. He also served for many years as a professor at the Yale School of Art, where he was an Associate Dean and is now Professor Emeritus.
