Jan Peter Tripp (born 1945) is one of the leading figures of post-war German-language photorealism. Born in Switzerland and working in Germany, the artist developed a precise, almost microscopic painting style from the 1970s onward, which is particularly evident in his famous eye portraits. In these works, Tripp explores the relationship between perception, identity, and pictorial reality.
