Sculpture. Wood. Probably maple or birch. 22 x 28.5 x 14 cm. Branded on the inside. MM Mariotti. Studio 20 Castello. The workshops of the Filippi family business were founded in Florence in 1887 and produced wooden models and molds for milliners. In 1945, the company was taken over by Alfonso Bini, who, together with designer Mario Mariotti, recognized that hat shapes could be transformed into independent, avant-garde sculptures.
