Mixed media and collage on Japanese paper. Signed, dated, and dedicated in pencil: Albrecht Fabri on his sixtieth birthday from his friend Antes, February 20, 1971. 50 x 43 cm (sheet size). Framed behind glass and described as such.

The German artist Horst Antes is particularly known for his striking 'head figures', which became his central motif from the 1960s onward. These depictions show highly simplified, often mask-like heads and bodies that exist between abstraction and figuration. Clear outlines, reduced forms, and strong colors are typical, lending the figures an archaic yet timeless quality.
