Rotating tellurium arm with pointer and depiction of the sun, moon, and earth. Mechanical Westminster chime on four polished bells. Quarter-hour strike. Eight-day power reserve. Eleven-jewel Swiss escapement. Second hand in the force field. Spring-driven. Automatic night shut-off.
35 x 29 x 29 cm. Not tested for accuracy.
The tellurium displays the Earth's orbit around the sun over a year, with the Earth rotating once on its axis every 24 hours. Simultaneously, the moon orbits the Earth once every 29.5 days, rotating once on its own axis, so that the different phases of the moon can be observed from Earth. The Earth's orbit also passes through the twelve signs of the zodiac, and the months and days can be read on a flat dial.
