Michele De Lucchi
Unique table lamp model Sinvola
Designed in 1979 as part of the bau. haus I Collection. Manufactured by Alchimia. Partially painted metal, fabric, painted wood. Dimensions without light source: H. 64 cm, D. 55 cm.
This lamp was exhibited in the spring of 1987 at a joint exhibition with Alchimia, Andrea Branzi, and Alessandro Mendini, among others, at Made In, Düsseldorf, and was acquired there by the current owner.
With this provocative design, Michele De Lucchi emphasized in 1979 the rejection of the then-emerging postmodern movement by the prevailing design doctrine. The lamp's design follows neither a matter-of-fact nor a functional approach, but is playful and emotional, like all designs in the bau. haus I collection by the Alchimia group.
