Two bronze figures of immortals in the Ming style
Both figures are dressed in long, flowing, belted robes. Depicted are Lü Dongbin, a scholar with a long beard and a magic sword (his other symbol, the fly whisk, is missing), and He Xiangu with a mouth organ (the latter lacking the additional attribute of the lotus blossom). Both figures stand on openwork carved Chinese wooden bases. Modernly mounted as lamps. Height 23.5 to 24.5 cm. Provenance Private Collection Düsseldorf
