Pair of large wall appliques
Bronze. A pair of opposing, sculpted, caryatid-shaped appliqués in the form of a male and female Baccant, respectively. The lower bodies are each wrapped in a long robe decorated with vines and attributes. Both figures have bare upper bodies and raised arms, probably originally holding candlesticks. Each approximately 71 cm high. (2) Provenance: Estate of the industrialist and Olympic dressage champion Gabriela Grillo.
