Buddha Shakyamuni in princely jewelry, Shan style
Wood, gilded over black lacquer. The figure is seated in meditation on a tall, partially stepped, hourglass-shaped, double lotus throne. The right hand is in bhumisparsa mudra, the left rests on the feet in dhyana mudra. On the head is a crown with ten high points and large, openwork, ornamental wings at the sides. The throne has an open compartment at the back for votive offerings. H 77 x 28 x 22 cm.
